We grew up without screens. We know what real life feels like.

Regroundd was born from a simple, personal sadness: the world we grew up in — where people looked at each other instead of their phones — is disappearing. We're building something to help bring it back.

The story behind Regroundd

We grew up in the 90s. No smartphones. No social media. No infinite scroll. We played outside until the streetlights came on. We called our friends on landlines and talked for hours about nothing. We got bored — and that boredom turned into creativity, imagination, and real connection.

We didn't know we were living in a golden age. We thought that was just life.

Then, gradually, screens replaced everything. The boredom that made us creative was filled by a feed. The friendships that happened face to face moved into group chats. The ability to sit quietly with our own thoughts — to just exist without stimulation — disappeared so slowly we didn't notice until it was gone.

One evening, sitting on a couch scrolling through nothing at 1 AM, we felt it clearly for the first time: this isn't living. This is the opposite of living.

The moment everything changed

We started paying attention. On trains, in parks, at restaurants — everywhere we looked, people were looking down. Parents scrolling while their children tried to get their attention. Couples sitting across from each other, both on their phones. Entire park benches of strangers, together but completely alone.

We walked through a park and counted. 47 out of 50 people were on their phones. Nobody was looking at the trees. Nobody was looking at each other. The world was beautiful and nobody was seeing it.

That's when we knew we had to build something. Not another app that blocks your phone — those don't work because they don't address why you're scrolling in the first place. Something different. Something that understands why you reach for your phone and offers you something better.

What we believe

You're not the problem

Your phone was designed by teams of psychologists to be addictive. You're not weak for struggling to put it down. The system was engineered to make quitting feel impossible.

Understanding beats blocking

App blockers treat the symptom. Regroundd addresses the cause. When you understand why you scroll, you can choose something better.

Real life is the reward

We don't use points, coins, or gamification tricks. The reward for putting your phone down is the life you get back. That's enough.

Your data is yours

We will never sell your data, share it with third parties, or use it for advertising. A company fighting exploitative technology must hold itself to the highest standard.

Our mission

We're building a world where putting your phone down feels like a gift, not a sacrifice. Where people look up again. Where real connection replaces digital simulation. Where the next generation knows what it feels like to be truly present.

choose what's real.

How Regroundd works

When you're about to scroll mindlessly, Regroundd gently intervenes. It asks you one simple question: what brought you here? Not to judge. To understand.

Are you bored? Lonely? Anxious? Procrastinating? Based on your answer, Regroundd suggests real-world grounding tasks backed by clinical psychology. Not generic tips. Real activities matched to how you're feeling right now.

Every task you complete earns roots. Those roots grow your personal tree inside the app — from a bare seed to a flourishing garden of exotic plants across 10 stages. The more you choose real life over scrolling, the more your garden comes alive.

And it's not just about you. Every root earned by every user counts toward a shared community goal. When the community collectively reaches 1,000,000 roots, we plant a real tree in the real world. Your screen time reduction literally helps the planet grow.

Real life is waiting.
